In this tutorial we will show you how to EXPORT and then manually backup a MySQL database using PHPMyAdmin from cPanel or Plesk.

cPanel

  • DATABASE section —> select [phpMyAdmin]
  • Once the tool page has loaded, select the database in question from the panel on the left
  • A new page will open showing the structure of the selected database. To create a database backup, click Export.
  • On the page that opens, you can choose whether to use the Quick or Custom export method. The Quick method is usually the preferred choice, but if you want to customize the export and output process, you can use the Custom method.
  • Once you have chosen the appropriate method, select the desired format for the backup from the Format drop-down menu and click Run.
  • A download page will open asking you for the exact location to save the file on your local computer. It is possible that the download will start automatically. This depends on your browser.
